Legalização ambiental cresce 430% no PA, afirma secretaria 5u5311
Nos últimos seis meses, aumentou em 430% o número de fazendeiros do Pará que buscaram a legalização ambiental de suas propriedades. Dados da Sema (Secretaria Estadual do Meio Ambiente) indicam que em meados do ano ado apenas 2.081 pessoas tinham entregue ao governo estadual algum documento relativo à localização de suas fazendas. Hoje, esse número saltou para cerca de 11 mil.
Para ambientalistas e membros do Ministério Público Federal, esse processo, quando concluído, poderá responder a uma das mais importantes dúvidas sobre a Amazônia: quem é dono de que área na floresta. Hoje, uma parcela ínfima da mata tem um mapa fundiário.
Apesar das 11 mil fazendas representarem apenas 10% das áreas que criam gado no Pará, o aumento é considerado “revolucionário por Daniel Avelino, procurador do República, e “um avanço muito importante por Paulo Barreto, da ONG Imazon (Instituto do Homem e Meio Ambiente da Amazônia).
O pesquisador disse que, dentre os identificados até agora, estão alguns dos maiores produtores paraenses, o que indica que a percentagem de terra conhecida pode ser superior à de fazendas.
O crescimento da regularização só foi possível porque, em julho de 2009, o Ministério Público Federal no Pará e frigoríficos am acordos segundo os quais as empresas não poderiam comprar carne de quem não se cadastrasse no prazo legal.
Outro fatores foram o decreto presidencial de dezembro ado, que anistiou os desmatadores que se cadastrassem, e a disponibilização do cadastro on-line.
O Pará é o segundo maior Estado da Amazônia Legal e líder em desmatamento. Para efeito da identificação territorial, há dois mecanismos básicos. Um, que exige o georrefenciamento (localização por coordenadas geográficas), custa caro e é usado por grandes fazendeiros. O outro é mais simples, pois para obtê-lo basta a escritura, com a localização descrita com menos precisão .
