Territórios Sustentáveis realiza Oficina sobre Pesca Esportiva em Faro 4bj2b
Moradores da Comunidade do Português, no município de Faro, aprenderam sobre pesca esportiva na Amazônia para garantir a qualidade e o respeito ao meio ambiente com o turismo local
No dia 21 de junho, 30 moradores da Comunidade do Português, no município de Faro, Baixo Amazonas, participaram da Oficina sobre Pesca Esportiva, promovida pelo Programa Territórios Sustentáveis. Profissionais da 3HFishing, empresa operadora de pesca esportiva no quilombo de Cachoeira Porteira, conduziram a oficina, onde foram apresentadas as experiências e os desafios para implementar a pesca esportiva na Amazônia.
A iniciativa faz parte do apoio que o Programa dá a atividade de turismo de base comunitária. A região do rio Nhamundá possui alto potencial para a prática de pesca esportiva e há 3 anos, a comunidade pratica o “pesque e solte”. Em 2018 foi publicado o Plano de Uso Público e a comunidade recebeu cerca de 80 turistas. Com a oficina, os moradores receberam informações sobre as atividades dos condutores, cozinheiras e camareiras, bem como noções de segurança e empreendedorismo.
Os resultados foram tão positivos, que já foram acordados os próximos os. Ainda em 2019, 4 comunitários participarão de uma operação turística no Território Quilombola Cachoeira Porteira, e nos próximos meses discutirão um contrato de negócios com a empresa 3HFishing.

O Programa Territórios Sustentáveis é uma iniciativa da Agenda Pública, Equipe de Conservação da Amazônia (Ecam) e Instituto do Homem e Meio Ambiente da Amazônia (Imazon), com apoio financeiro da Mineração Rio do Norte (MRN) que tem por objetivo contribuir para a consolidação de um desenvolvimento sustentável dentro dos territórios de Faro, Terra Santa e Oriximiná por meio dos eixos, Desenvolvimento Econômico, Gestão Ambiental, Gestão Pública, Capital Social e Quilombolas.
