Apresentações – Semana Técnica da Palma Sustentável 4tls
Com o objetivo de incrementar e potencializar o conhecimento técnico acerca da produção da palma no Estado do Pará, o Imazon e Proforest Initiative, juntamente com o Programa Municípios Verdes do Governo do Pará promoveram a Semana Técnica da Palma Sustentável, com treinamento e oficinas sobre produção sustentável de palma para produtores, autoridades governamentais e organizações da sociedade civil no Estado.
O evento gerou insumos que servirão para orientar a criação de uma agenda sobre palma sustentável no estado do Pará.
A sessão aberta, no dia 22 de outubro, apresentou um público de 81 pessoas, dentre elas autoridades, como o secretário Justiniano Netto e o secretário de produção Sidney Rosa, e representando ONGs, como Peabiru, e diversas empresas ligadas à cadeia produtiva de palma. Neste dia os grandes temas abordados foram o óleo de palma no contexto paraense e a visão do governo, a situação da palma no Brasil e no mundo e a sustentabilidade na produção de palma.
Nos dias 23 e 24 de outubro, um público de cerca de 40 pessoas discutiu mais intensamente as principais questões relacionadas à palma com os temas sobre os princípios e critérios da RSPO, a expansão responsável da palma e os desafios desta expansão, agricultura familiar, sustentabilidade e certificação, relações com a comunidade e consentimento livre, prévio e informado, e as experiências de outros países e de outros setores no Brasil.
