#ImagemDoDia: A sociedade engajada pela educação ambiental nas comunidades: o Programa de Agentes Ambientais da Calha Norte 2e22o

Há dois anos, Imazon e Ideflor-Bio desenvolvem na região da Calha Norte do Pará o Programa de Agentes Ambientais Comunitários, que capacita membros de populações tradicionais para promover a educação ambiental em suas comunidades, incentivando também a participação social.
Desde sua implementação, o Programa já capacitou 89 comunitários, formando 59 agentes residentes no interior e entorno da Floresta Estadual de Faro, Território Quilombola Ariramba e 17 comunidades ribeirinhas da Floresta Nacional Saracá-Taquera, em Oriximiná.
Na primeira etapa, os comunitários participaram de oficinas de educação ambiental abordando temas como Legislação Florestal, Ecologia, Áreas Protegidas, entre outros. Atualmente, os agentes realizam Planos de Trabalho, transmitindo conhecimentos para suas comunidades por meio de palestras educativas e adotando e ensinando práticas sustentáveis, como descarte correto de lixo e sistemas agroflorestais.
Na Flota de Faro, os agentes apoiam ativamente o turismo comunitário, fazendo a demarcação e manutenção de trilhas ecológicas. Já em Oriximiná, grande parte dos agentes participa do “Projeto Pé de Pincha”, que promove a proteção de quelônios, coletando ovos e construindo berçários. Em 2018, mais de 2.000 ovos foram resgatados na região e serão devolvidos à natureza na época da soltura.
