#ImagemDoDia Ocupações irregulares ameaçam Áreas Protegidas 2z26u

As Áreas Protegidas (APs) atuam como barreiras verdes ao desmatamento. No entanto, essas áreas sofrem diversos tipos de pressão, inclusive por ocupações irregulares em seu interior.
Atualmente, existem 9.209 imóveis irregulares dentro de APs na Amazônia que não permitem esse tipo de ocupação. O curioso é que esses imóveis estão cadastrados no Sistema Nacional de Cadastro Ambiental Rural, um registro eletrônico obrigatório para todos os imóveis rurais cuja finalidade é auxiliar a istração pública no processo de regularização fundiária das propriedades. São 323 unidades ocupadas irregularmente, representando 46% do total de APs existentes hoje na Amazônia.
As ocupações irregulares encontram-se principalmente dentro de Unidades de Uso Sustentável (n = 5.133), de Terras Indígenas (n = 2.473) e de Unidades de Proteção Integral (n = 1.603). A presença desses imóveis nas APs funciona como um vetor de desmatamento e especulação fundiária.
Um exemplo é o caso da Floresta Nacional (Flona) do Jamanxim, que tem um histórico de ocupações de grandes propriedades. A Flona é alvo do Projeto de Lei (PL nº 8.107/2017) que tramita no Congresso com a finalidade de reduzir seus limites, permitindo, assim, a regularização das ocupações. A aprovação desse projeto incentivará a ocupação irregular de outras Áreas Protegidas.
