Imazon divulga dados de Ameaça e Pressão do último trimestre 4w19x
Duas localidades no Pará foram as áreas mais ameaçadas por desmatamento no período
Nesta semana, o Imazon divulgou o relatório trimestral de Ameaça e Pressão de desmatamento em Áreas Protegidas (APs) na Amazônia, referente aos meses de novembro de 2018 a janeiro de 2019. Os dados indicam que 67% das ocorrências são de ameaça e 33% de pressão.
Os indicadores de Ameaça são relativos ao risco iminente de desmatamento no interior de uma Área Protegida. É levada em consideração uma distância de 10 km para indicar a zona de vizinhança da região, uma vez que o desmatamento não penetra os limites de algumas dessas áreas, por conta de resistência interna. Em contrapartida, os indicadores de pressão mostram que já existe uma devastação, que pode levar a perdas de serviços ambientais e até mesmo a redução dos limites da extensão.
As regiões de Flona do Tapajós e a Terra Indígena Cachoeira Seca do Iriri, ambas no Estado do Pará, foram as APs mais ameaçadas no período. Além disso, metade dessas Terras Indígenas estão listadas entre as 10 mais Ameaçadas na Amazônia.
A Terra Indígena Cachoeira Seca do Iriri também foi a região mais Pressionada do período, junto à Reserva Extrativista Chico Mendes, no Acre.
Os dados denotam ainda que aumentaram em 165% as áreas atingidas pelo desmatamento, em relação ao mesmo período do último ano, que compreende os meses de novembro de 2017 a janeiro de 2018.
