Imazon realiza formação de agentes ambientais comunitários em Monte Alegre 6z4f3h
Neste mês, comunitários de Monte Alegre, município situado no oeste do Pará, puderam conhecer mais sobre as áreas protegidas (unidades de conservação, terras indígenas e territórios quilombolas) e sobre a função e importância dos agentes ambientais comunitários para o fortalecimento das comunidades e para a conservação do território, além de ter noções de legislação ambiental e ecologia.
As atividades fazem parte do Programa Agentes Ambientais Comunitários (PAAC), desenvolvido pelo Imazon em parceria com o Ideflor-bio (Instituto de Desenvolvimento Florestal e da Biodiversidade do estado do Pará). O programa busca, através da formação de cidadãs e cidadãos residentes, ou não, em Áreas Protegidas, contribuir para a melhoria do status de conservação do território, a redução dos conflitos socioambientais e a valorização do conhecimento tradicional.
A capacitação realizada na comunidade Aldeia, em Monte Alegre, contou com a participação de moradores das comunidades Lages, Santana do Paytuna e Irerê, localizadas na Unidade de Conservação estadual Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) Paytuna, e das comunidades Aldeia, Jaburu e Miri da região de entorno da APA. No total, cerca de 28 pessoas participaram do primeiro ciclo de capacitações. Além dos comunitários, estiveram presentes técnicos do Ideflor-bio e pesquisadores do Imazon.
Nas próximas capacitações, que estão previstas para os meses de setembro e outubro, os comunitários aprenderão sobre educação ambiental, uso sustentável dos recursos naturais, sobrevivência na selva e primeiros socorros, monitoramento ambiental, entre outros temas.
As demais etapas do programa, previstas para o mês de novembro, envolvem ainda a elaboração do plano de trabalho (com atividades a serem desenvolvidas pelos comunitários no período de um ano) e credenciamento (formatura). Já o monitoramento do plano de trabalho e as capacitações adicionais, serão realizadas durante todo o ano de 2020.
Essa é a primeira turma de agentes ambientais comunitários de Monte Alegre, e a quinta a participar do Programa. As outras turmas estão localizadas nos municípios de Belém, Faro, Óbidos e Oriximiná.
Imazon – O Instituto do Homem e Meio Ambiente na Amazônia é um centro de pesquisa brasileiro, fundado em 1990, que tem como missão promover a conservação e o desenvolvimento sustentável da Amazônia. Há dois anos, a instituição realiza o Programa de Agentes Ambientais Comunitários, que capacita membros de populações tradicionais para promover a educação ambiental em suas comunidades, incentivando também a participação social. Desde o início, o programa já capacitou mais de 140 comunitários.
