Pesquisador Beto Veríssimo será enviado especial da COP 30 para o setor de florestas 5q565j
Presidência do evento escolheu 30 pessoas para o cargo, sendo 10 para regiões prioritárias e 20 para setores-chave 3x6xn
Na última semana, a presidência da COP 30 anunciou os 30 escolhidos para serem enviados especiais do evento, que ocorrerá em novembro, em Belém. Eles atuarão no engajamento e na escuta de setores e regiões prioritárias para o sucesso da Conferência do Clima.
Serão 10 enviados para regiões estratégicas, com atuação geral nas regiões que representam, e 20 enviados para setores-chave. “Os enviados, que atuarão voluntariamente e em caráter pessoal, serão alguns dos interlocutores para o fluxo de informações e percepções das áreas que representam, o que permitirá que as interações ocorram de forma mais rápida e eficaz. Também serão canais diretos para apresentar demandas e pedidos para a Presidência da COP30, atuando como pontos de contato com setores e regiões”, informou o site oficial da COP 30.
O pesquisador Beto Veríssimo foi escolhido para o setor de florestas. Engenheiro agrônomo pela Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (UFRA) e pós-graduado em Ecologia pela Universidade Estadual da Pensilvânia (EUA), Veríssimo é cofundador e pesquisador sênior do Instituto do Homem e Meio Ambiente da Amazônia (Imazon). Também atua como diretor do Centro de Empreendedorismo da Amazônia (CEA), coordenador do Projeto Amazônia 2030 e diretor do IPS Brasil.
