Pesquisadores do Imazon apresentam estudos no Simpósio Brasileiro de Sensoriamento Remoto c1f4m
Trabalhos falam sobre seca, queimadas e degradação e fortalecem a proteção da Amazônia
Pesquisadoras e pesquisadores do Imazon participaram do XXI Simpósio Brasileiro de Sensoriamento Remoto (SBSR), um dos principais encontros da área no país. As atividades reuniram especialistas de diversos setores para debater avanços científicos, tecnológicos e políticos nesse campo de atuação.
O Instituto, por meio da equipe de Monitoramento da Amazônia, utiliza o sensoriamento remoto como base para desenvolver estudos e projetos voltados à conservação da Amazônia. Participar de atividades como o SBSR é importante para divulgar as pesquisas realizadas, acompanhar inovações tecnológicas e ampliar oportunidades de parcerias.
O evento foi realizado entre os dias 13 e 16 de abril de 2025, em Salvador (BA). O Imazon teve três artigos aceitos para o simpósio. Foram eles:
1 – “Secas severas na Amazônia em 2023 e 2024: detecção e monitoramento com imagens de satélites”, na sessão de pôster.
2 – “Prevenção de queimadas no estado do Pará uma estratégia utilizando o modelo de risco da plataforma PrevisIA”, apresentado pela pesquisadora Alexandra Alves.
3 – “Desmatamento na Amazônia: que tipo de uso se estabelece após a remoção da floresta">, na sessão de pôster.
Outro destaque foi a participação do pesquisador Carlos Souza Jr. na sessão temática “Degradação de Ecossistemas: caracterização com sensoriamento remoto”, onde realizou a apresentação “Detecção e monitoramento de degradação de ecossistemas aquáticos com séries temporais”.
“Eventos como o SBSR são essenciais para trocarmos experiências com outros profissionais da área e mostrarmos como a tecnologia pode ser uma aliada poderosa na conservação ambiental. Compartilhar os avanços do Imazon e as nossas soluções baseadas na ciência para os desafios que a Amazônia enfrenta fortalece o diálogo com a comunidade científica e amplia o alcance do nosso trabalho”, afirmou Carlos.
