Ameaça e Pressão de Desmatamento em Áreas Protegidas: SAD de Agosto 2020 a Julho 2021 j326p

O Imazon apresentará a cada trimestre um relatório sintético de Ameaças e Pressões em APs com base em dados de alertas de desmatamento do SAD e um relatório anual com dados detalhados. Essa publicação apresenta os dados de Ameaça e Pressão referentes ao período de agosto de 2020 a julho de 2021:
Áreas Protegidas (APs) representam um patrimônio nacional, e considerando a extensão das APs na Amazônia Legal (i.e., 46%), os seus benefícios para manutenção da biodiversidade, estoques de carbono e na geração de serviços ambientais como a regulação do clima, transcendem a fronteira nacional, alcançando relevância global. Propomos uma metodologia para monitorar as Ameaças e Pressões nas APs baseada em dados de desmatamento (sem sombra de dúvidas um dos maiores vetores de ameaças, mas há outros vetores como extração madeireira, garimpo, hidrelétricas).
Usamos as seguintes definições:
AMEAÇA: é a medida do risco iminente de ocorrer desmatamento no interior de uma AP. Utilizamos uma distância de 10 km para indicar a zona de vizinhança de uma AP na qual a ocorrência de desmatamento indica ameaça. Muitas APs resistem a esse tipo de ameaça não permitindo que o desmatamento penetre em seus limites.
PRESSÃO: ocorre quando o desmatamento se manifesta no interior da AP, levando a perdas de serviços ambientais e até mesmo à redução ou redefinição de limites da AP. Ou seja, é um processo interno que pode levar a desestabilização legal e ambiental da AP.
RESULTADO
O SAD de agosto de 2020 a julho de 2021 detectou um total de 10.476 km² de desmatamento na Amazônia. O cruzamento dos dados do SAD com a grade de células de 10 km x 10 km (i.e., 100 km²) revelou que:
— Das 10.570 células que tiveram ocorrência de desmatamento, 7.005 (66%) indicam Ameaça e 3.565 (34%) Pressão em APs. O número de células com ocorrência de desmatamento de agosto de 2020 a julho de 2021 é 13% maior em comparação com agosto de 2019 a julho de 2020.
— As APs mais Ameaçadas foram a Resex Chico Mendes (AC) e a Parna Mapinguari (AM/RO), ambas estavam entre as três APs mais Ameaçadas no ranking do calendário anterior (Gráfico 1). Pará é o estado com maior número de APs ameaçadas no ranking. Todas as 10 APs mais Ameaçadas também estavam no ranking das 10 mais no calendário anterior.
— A APA do Tapajós (PA) e a APA Triunfo do Xingu (PA) foram as APs mais Pressionadas. Ambas ocuparam o segundo e primeiro lugar, respectivamente, no ranking de APs pressionadas do calendário anterior (Gráfico 2).
— As Terras Indígenas TI Uru-Eu-Wau-Wau (RO) e TI Trincheira Bacajá (PA) foram as mais Ameaçadas no período. A TI Yanomami (AM/RR) e a TI Apyterewa (PA) lideram o ranking das mais Pressionadas, ambas também lideraram o ranking de Pressão do período anterior.
— As Unidades de Conservação Federais que lideram o ranking de Ameaça são a Resex Chico Mendes (AC) e Parna Mapinguari (AM/RO). Todas as 10 Unidades de Conservação Federais mais Ameaçadas também estavam no ranking das 10 mais no calendário anterior. Em relação a Pressão, a APA do Tapajós (PA) e a Resex Chico Mendes (AC) lideram o ranking.
— As Unidades de Conservação Estaduais mais Ameaçadas foram a APA do Lago de Tucuruí (PA) e a FES do Amapá (AP). Em relação a Pressão, a APA Triunfo do Xingu (PA) e a APA Arquipélago do Marajó (PA) são as líderes do ranking. Todas as 10 Unidades de Conservação Estaduais mais Pressionadas também estavam no ranking das 10 mais no calendário anterior.
